Witnessing Confessions

Can the blind lead the blind? Yeah, but it doesn't help. Only someone with vision can lead a blind person to a definite destination. I must confess; I've been blind lately.

Somehow I got it into my head that my choices and my actions are what make me rightous or holy or good. They are not. They are a reflection of my goodness. It's not my actions that make me good or bad, it's my goodness or badness that determines my actions. In other words, it's what the over flow of my heart is that chooses what I do.

Long story short, I saw the folly of my ways and now I am walking with the Lord again, keyword walking. The Lord doesn't care about our actions as much as He cares about our relationship to Him. And our relation to Him will reflect on our actions. And the Lord is GOOD.

It's the rightness with the Lord that has made my witnessing so easy today. I haven't gone fishing since I was about 8, but I would say that today was the fishing equivalent of...many fish. The Lord had given me a concern for the lost, and he gave me the words to tell them. He also gave me courage that I've never had before. I wasn't even scared, but I was activly looking for people and excited to share with them.

Let's see, I can't remember who said it originally, but Ray Comfort quoted someone saying, "Get on fire for God, and people will come to watch you burn." It's so true. I've felt better today than I have in weeks, and it really showed in how I approached witnessing today. You've heard it said, the joy of the Lord is my strength. That soungs great on paper, but it's even better in reality. Trust me.

Thank you Lord, and I love you Lord.

Heb 1:1-2
It says that God spoke to our fathers with the prophets and to us with the son

Luke 16:16, The law and the prophets were UNTIL John...

Matthew 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied UNTIL John. that' The Baptist John btw.

1 corinthians 14: 3&5 seem to say that Prophets today build up and encourage. And they build up the church(people not building(I didn't have to say that))

Rewind a little bit to 13:8 and you'll see that love is greater than prophecy.

Tie Rod

Last Weekend we did a weekend retreat. Our band played for them. It was for people whom we wanted to enjoy modern music. They did. It was a wonderful weekend, although it was so draining. I play bass guitar, andwe played for like 8ish hours this weekend, so I have no finger prints left.

On our way to band practice on Saturday night the tie rod broke on our car. We were driving five miles an hour and none of us were hurt. All I had to say about it is that God Himself Kept it from breaking when we were driving over 70 miles per hour.

Later that night during a meeting the thought hit me. I was seriously thinking through what could have happened if that tie rod broke when we were going well over 70 most of the way across Wisconsin. We could have died. There were three of us in the car. And we could have all died.

Every once in a while you see crosses on the side of a highway, and there could have been three more for us. Maybe we would have been united under one.

I began thinking, "What have I done for God with my life?" Not much. I began thinking about all the things I've left unsaid. I could have left this world without ever saying these things. Doug, our pastor, and Rob the elder of our church, are my heros. They have helped me come so far in my christian walk. They are my heros, I love them so much. Daniel and Peter are my close friends, and I love them. David, my roomate, is a huge blessing on my life. Tim, our band leader...I look up to him. I'm older and taller than him, and I look up to him.

There are so many people I have to talk to, and either get on good terms with, or tell them of the amazing grace that I've gotten from God.

Every breath is a gift from God. Just because you're taking a breath now, doesn't mean you'll get to take another. He supplies us with everything. What am I using his gifts for? Do I breathe in to blaspheme His holy name? Do I use this breath to lie? Do I use the precious eyes that He has given me to lust after someone? How am I using my gifts from God?

Way of the Master Radio

Hi everybody, Jeffrey dearest was on Way of the Master Radio today. I had the priviledge of asking some stupid questions about my aunt.

http://www.wayofthemaster.com/radio/listenlive/mediaplayer.shtml

It's a sweet radio program even when I'm not asking stupid questions on it. I sure do have a face for radio.

Fire and Brimstone

Today The U of M was blessed with two fire and brimstone preachers. They were yelling at people and saying they were going to hell. Maybe some of you have heard of them, Brother Jeb, and Mike Leisner. They are a little nutty, and a little extreme. They are saying the truth for the most part, and they agree with the Bible a lot. In short they are sowing good seed. Let's remember what 1 Corinthians 13:1&2 tell us:

If I speak in the toungeus of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, hut have not love, I am nothing.

I can't say if these guys have love or not. I sure wasn't feeling it from them. Again let me say that the seed is good, and unless people repent and trust in Christ they will perish. And again in their defence, they started people talking. I walked around and asked these two questions as spring boards for the Gospel.

1.) How long have you been standing here?
2.) If these guys wanted you to take one message home from this, what do you think it would be?

Then I describe to them a little about why they are there, and I use my favorite phrase, "The Bible says..." It's important to make sure people see that they are arguing against the Bible, and not against me. I'm a man, and not much of a challange for arguing. The Bible is a book that is well respected and studied. People have a much harder time arguing against it.

When I talk to them in that way, and listen to what they say, they can see that I care about them. I also like to say things like "You don't have to go to my church, and I don't want your money. Please consider what I said; it's so important." I'm kinda of a pleader and a begger at that point.

Now here is a question to all the Christians who complain about open air preaching or law-gospel evangelism. Have you witnessed to 12 people in the last month? Last year? Ever? If you're waiting for a word from God, Mark 16:15,, "And He said to them, 'Go to all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" Go, tell every one you see. Get equipped at www.wayofthemaster.com or www.shareyourfaith.org and study it a little and depend on God. Do you know who preached the law? Jesus! Do you know who did open air preaching? Jeremiah, John the Baptist, Paul, Peter, Stephen...
